Meet The Team

TOBoise25_edited.jpg

Wes Rood, PE

Principal

Wes has over 27 years of comprehensive civil and structural engineering specific to water and wastewater facility planning, design, and construction.  His experience includes industrial, commercial, and residential projects with involvement from concept presentations to project completion.  Wes applies theoretical engineering practices to real world issues and excels at integrating civil, mechanical, structural, and electrical designs into a comprehensive product that works at all levels – a rare and valuable skill.  Wes has successfully acted as EOR for several large, complex municipal and industrial projects.

Charlie Smith, PE

Principal

Charlie has over 15 years of experience in civil, environmental, water, and wastewater engineering.  He specializes in the industrial wastewater market with an emphasis in the design-build project framework but has also completed numerous projects for municipal clients.  His background includes construction management, construction observation, asphalt/concrete mix design, water/wastewater treatment facility design, pump/lift station design, municipal utility (water, wastewater, stormwater) design, as well as facility operations.  Charlie is a licensed PE in over a dozen states and licensed wastewater operator in three states.

Jon Duerschner Headshot_edited.jpg

Jon Duerschner, PE

Process Design Lead

Jon brings a master’s degree in chemical engineering and strong technical experience in water and wastewater process engineering to G3.  In addition to basic biological and chemical treatment designs, Jon is an expert in biological nutrient removal to meet ever tightening phosphorus and nitrogen discharge limits.  Jon's expertise and detail oriented approach has resulted in his leadership developing industrial wastewater pretreatment programs for municipalities, including preparation of program implementation procedures, enforcement response plans, and development of local limits that balance preservation of POTW capacity with commercial and industrial growth. Jon is a master of several proprietary modeling softwares and has developed numerous internal modeling tools.

Billy Walker - Casual Profile - GSE_edited.jpg

Billy Walker, PE

Project Engineer

Billy has a strong background in land development, hydrology, water, wastewater treatment, and stormwater engineering.  Prior to joining G3, Billy attended the University of Idaho, where he earned a BS degree in Civil Engineering.  Billy has been involved in various commercial, industrial, and municipal projects, giving him excellent perspective across engineering disciplines.  His project experience includes grading and drainage plans, hydraulic calculations, stormwater modeling, 3D modeling, and preparation of engineering reports, plans and specifications.  As one of G3's project engineer, Billy does what it takes to drive projects forward, meet deadlines, and keep projects on budget.

Sydney Grego - Casual - GSE_edited.jpg

Sydney Grego, EI

Project Engineer

Sydney started her career in land development where she worked on a variety of projects in the private and public sector throughout the Treasure Valley of Idaho from mixed use multi-family complexes to commercial developments. Since then, Sydney has pivoted to water and wastewater, where she has had a hand in industrial and municipal projects working on both design and drafting. Sydney is proficient in  both Civil and Plant 3D designing site layouts, pipe networks, grading and drainage plans, and modeling mechanical process piping, in addition to performing hydraulic calculations and the preparation of engineering reports, plans, and specifications.

Moriah Bailen - Casual 2 - GSE_edited.j

Moriah Bailen

Staff Engineer

The newest member of G3, Moriah works closely with the rest of the team to perform design and drafting on a variety of projects.  Moriah has a knack for Civil 3D, and has quickly become and integral part of delivering several industrial wastewater projects.  Moriah also has a wealth of knowledge about emerging contaminants, including PFAS, developed through real world experience.

Richard Kezerle - Casual 1 - GSE_edited.jpg

Richie Kezerle

CAD Manager

Richie has 14 years of experience drafting water and wastewater treatment and conveyance infrastructure.  As an Autodesk Certified Professional, Richie is on the forefront of new drafting technology including 3D modeling, ACC, BIM, and clash detection.  With his previous firm, Richie was a leader in developing CAD standards for emerging CAD technologies, which was an integral part of driving efficiency for the engineering team.  Richie has been responsible for training numerous engineers and drafters on CAD programs, giving our team a unique amount of flexibility and depth.

Steven Bell - Casual Cropped_edited.jpg

Steven Bell

Designer

Steven's BS in Mechanical Engineering from WSU pairs perfectly with his ability to visualize projects in 3D and transfer that vision into a constructable set of plans.  With an eye toward the details, Steven takes much of the design load off our engineers, developing plans with little direction, and increasing the efficiency of our entire team.  His ability to transform literal decades old blueprints into 3D models is nearly wizardry.  We call him our CAD Master for a reason!

Madison Headshot_edited.jpg

Madison Simons, EI

Process Engineer

After graduating from Montana State University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, with her studies concentrating on water treatment, wastewater treatment, and remediation of surface and groundwater.  Madison began her career in the semiconductor industry, primarily working on process development and troubleshooting operational issues in high-volume manufacturing. Madison came to G3 to refocus on her passion for the environment and will be working to apply her chemical and biological expertise to water and wastewater treatment process design.

Work To Live,
Not
Live To Work

G3's employees are our strongest asset and we strive to create an environment that allows our staff to sustainably balance work and personal life.  Our goal is to offer a dynamic work environment with the flexibility to manage family, travel, vacation, and other personal obligations in harmony with work by offering things like half-day Fridays, flexible working hours, work from home, company provided Friday breakfast, and other "soft" benefits.  We also strive to build a collaborative team environment through regular company outings, happy hours, and other non-work related group activities.  Since we're spending 40-hours a week together, we might as well have some fun doing it.  The strength developed thought non-project related activities is part of the magic that allows our team to push through the most challenging projects  Keep an eye out for us on our annual company raft trip!
